“Surplus Princess” was not a perfect drama by any means, but the blossoming romance between Ahn Hye Young (played by Kim Seul Gi) and Big (played by Nam Joo Hyuk) was one of its saving graces and a memorable addition to the world of noona romances.Īhn Hye Young is a successful Mukbang live streamer, or food porn blogger. This drama touches on every trope in the book: uncomfortable living situations when Joo Yeon is forced to take Joo Wan into her home as a favor to her mom love triangles, as of course there’s another love interest in the form of Joo Yeon’s boss (played by the charming Namgoong Min) rich man meets poor girl and, of course, noona romance! However, despite covering a lot of clichés, “I Need Romance 3” is addictively entertaining and definitely has something different, not to mention the chemistry between the leads. The age gap is barely noticeable as Shin Joo Yeon (played by the classically beautiful Kim So Yeon) is sweet and playful and frankly, a little immature, while Joo Wan (played by the incredibly handsome Sung Joon) portrays the typical rich boy overflowing with confidence and charm.

The third installment in the “I Need Romance” series pairs up arguably two of Korea’s most beautiful people, then alternates between seriously adorable scenes and seriously steamy ones. In “Noona Romances,” the women are often in control and not at all shy, but that doesn’t mean the guys don’t come in to sweep them off their feet!īelow are my picks of the best “Noona Romances” in Dramaland! Give it a try and I am sure you won't regret the time spent, it is truly one of those rare breed among kdramas.“Noona Romances” are chock full of beautiful, confident, and self-possessed leading ladies opposite fun, young, and equally stunning leading men the relationship dynamics are almost entirely turned on their head from your traditional dramas, which usually have slightly older men and younger women. I am sure I will rewatch this show in the future as it really warms your heart and makes your day.

The OSTs are excellent and catchy and they just make the whole experience of watching the drama even better. There is never a single episode which is draggy and if not for my work commitment, I believe i could have marathon this show within 2 days.Įveryone acted superbly in the show and are truly lovable and realistic in their roles, even the villain has his own story (I won't reveal more on this though). However, the amazing part is how the scriptwriter manages to weave all these cases into a seamless drama comprises of elements of romance, comedy, suspense, thriller and friendship. There are quite a few cases in the drama, which is not surprising given its genre. I Hear Your Voice got me hooked right from day ONE due to its unique and original plot. I love dramas related to mystery and court cases. I started the drama with little expectation as I basically watched it due to the plot synopsis which got me interested. Rewatch Value 10 This drama totally blew me away so much that I just have to give it a perfect 10 in all categories. Just like owning your favorite books to re-read over and over, I'll be enjoying this drama for years to come. I can tell you I will be watching this again and not only for the feel good moments.

FYI, Jung Woong In was made for evil roles! That man can be downright scary as hell. The versatility of all the main and supporting cast was excellent. Both very experienced actors that pulled even more out of their bag of tricks in this drama. Several episodes I had to give the best acting award to Jung Woong In, Yoon Sang Hyun and Lee Da Hee. As much as his acting ability left me breathless, he wasn't the only standout.

This choice, for this role, could not have been any better. No matter how well written a story may be, if you don't get the right actors, it will never work. He made me laugh at his goofiness, smile when he was happy, and just cry my eyes out when he hurt. I've recently watched School 2013 and knew the kid had talent, but I never would have guessed he was this good. What surprised me the most was the acting ability of Lee Jong Suk. I expected to see good acting from many of the cast members, most are very respected and experienced. I have to put an entire paragraph here on the acting. This is the third drama/movie of hers that I've watched and I loved them all. However, that's the genius of the writer and, to her, I give props. Nearly every episode flows perfectly and most left me in denial that I had to wait a week for the next set. Not only is the story really unique and well written, but the actors (ALL of them) have done such an amazing job that you don't see the actor anymore, just the character.

Rewatch Value 10 As I'm sure anyone reading the reviews for this drama can tell, many people are incredibly passionate about I Hear Your Voice.
